Four reasons NOT to buy an electric toothbrush.

Animated-Teeth.com's latest addition is a page titled "Four reasons NOT to buy an electric toothbrush."

In doing an evaluation of other available online content for their initial article "Four 'right' reasons to buy a powered toothbrush," Animated-Teeth.com determined that much of what could be found was either misleading or, in some cases, simply inaccurate.

Animated-Teeth.com takes the stance that an electric toothbrush can be a valuable tool in aiding a person with their oral home care efforts. But if a person bases their decision to purchase an electric on unfounded premises, then as they become disappointed with their brush's inability to perform these tasks and will quit using it. The end result is simply wasted money and lost opportunity for improved oral health.

If you're considering buying an electric toothbrush you should read these pages.

Electric toothbrushes: Four "right" reasons to consider buying one.

We're always amazed at the (low) quality of information found on the web regarding electric toothbrushes. And we mean both on "resource" type websites as well as the websites of the very companies that make these products. It seems that everybody is out to give reasons why a quick sell should be made.

The way we see it, powered toothbrushes can be wonderful tools to own and use. But only if they are a "right match" for the person who will be using it. If not, then the brush probably won't be used (at least over the long term) and therefore offer no real advantage.

Check out Animated-Teeth.com's page "Four 'right' reasons to buy an electric toothbrush" and see if any of the applications in which an electric toothbrush excel are a good match for you.

Root canal treatment or a dental implant: What's the better choice?

Animated-Teeth.com has several pages dedicated to the topic of which is a better choice, saving a tooth with root canal treatment or having it extracted and replaced with a dental crown.

Most recently they have added a section that discusses the implant-root canal decision in terms of cost effectiveness. Specifically they cite a 2009 study that formulated a model that evaluated this choice in terms of treatment longevity and lifetime costs. The picture to the right might suggest to you which of the two they found was usually the more cost-effective approach.

If you're watching much TV now days, you're almost certainly seeing the advertisements of companies who are interested in buying "scrap" gold. So much of what is talked about in these ads is unwanted jewelry but don't overlook the fact that you may have some scrap dental restorations that have precious metal content. Maybe it is dental work (crowns, bridges, partials) that your dentist has removed and returned to you personally, or possibly it is dental work that has been left to you as part of a deceased relatives estate.

Both Dental-Picture-Show.com and Animated-Teeth.com have pages dedicated to this topic. These pages discuss both the types of dental restorations that may have value as well as the types of metals (gold, platinum, palladium) that they may contain.
